Taking up the Taupo Cycle Challenge – again!

    .

Nine Chemiplas staff from 7 Chemiplas divisions competed in the Taupo Cycle Challenge on 30 November – a combined effort in health, nutrition and team spirit. And we’re proud to say this is the 15th year in a row that we’ve taken part!

The Chemiplas AgriVantage team were in both mountain biking and road cycling events, with AgriVantage Business Manager Warren Tanner taking on the 320km Enduro race which he finished in 12 hours and 20 minutes.

Trudy Ringrose from the Chemiplas Nutrition division noted that everyone placed well in their events, but the best part was the camaraderie in competing together and enjoying a weekend away.

Receptionist Melissa Warin said “The Taupo Cycle Challenge is a great event to push yourself and achieve a few personal goals doing something different, with the support of a great bunch of work colleagues.

“It’s a privilege to be part of a company that supports this sort of team building experience and having fun. I’d call it a bonding experience that adds to the value of work life.”

Chemiplas funded the weekend for the whole team – entry fees, riding kit, travel, food and accommodation.

Director Duncan Leigh says Chemiplas happily supports the weekend every year. “We enjoy encouraging team activity, with a bit of physical exercise and mental challenge. The really good bits for me are sitting around over dinner, talking about the event and enjoying each other’s company.

“Having everyone in AgriVantage branded clothing also works well to ‘gel’ us as a ‘team’, even if we are competing individually.

“We will continue to support this event.”
